Thailand's economy could manage up to 3.8% growth this year if exports continue growing, says the government's planning unit. The economy is expected to take off strongly in the second half of the year, driven by growing exports, higher private investment, improving farm prices and accelerated infrastructure development, said Porametee Vimolsiri, secretary-general of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB).

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak will sign a cooperation agreement with Japan to implement eight major development projects, including the construction of Bangkok – Chiang Mai high-speed railway line using Japanese technology during his visit to Tokyo from June 4-6.
